Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.
Children ages 3-12 are invited to attend our Sunday School program from 9:30-10:30 while their parents attend the adult classes. The children gather together for a time of prayer and sometimes worship, then head to their own small group settings for age-appropriate instruction. The smaller groups allow for more in-depth Bible study for the older children as well as discipleship and fellowship. Building friendships and loving one another well is a core part of our overall children’s program.
All children receive a Bible when they reach the 2nd grade. They are given guidance on how to use it in class, are taught to memorize the titles of all sixty-six books of the Bible for quick access, and apply foundational study skills such as cross referencing and using their concordance. The Sunday School hour also allows time for the children to ask questions, pray together, and receive Biblical guidance regarding issues they encounter in their daily lives.
Children ages 3 – 12 are invited to participate in our Children’s Church program which takes place during the regular church service. All children remain in the sanctuary for announcements and a portion of the worship service before departing with Children’s Church leaders. We gather first in Room 1 where the older children take great joy in helping to train up our pre-schoolers for attentive behavior during our corporate time of worship, prayer, offering, and object lesson. It truly feels like one VERY BIG family. At the close of the opening, the preschoolers remain in Room 1 for their Bible story, craft, and snack; while school age and above venture into the adjacent room for their Bible lesson. The eagerness of all of the children to know more about the Bible and to live in a way that is pleasing to God is a delight! If we finish up before the church service dismisses, we enjoy play time on the beautiful playgrounds. Come join us!
Our children present a musical at least once per year that requires them to memorize lines, including scripture, and to utilize their singing voices to praise our God and King. Often performed at Christmas and Easter, these special productions solidify the children’s understanding of both the incarnate birth of Christ, as well as His death and resurrection – and give the children an opportunity to share that knowledge with others in a fun and meaningful way.
Each summer our 3rd-6th grade children have the opportunity to attend summer camp. Whether they’re attending a Christian camp with other churches, or one created for our children alone, the focused days provide growth for the children in their relationship with God and with other children in our group.
Parents’ Night Out
A happy marriage fosters a happy family. We not only teach marriage classes, we make sure that moms and dads have alone time together. We provide child-care one evening per month, from 5:00-10:00 pm so that parents can go out to dinner, watch a movie, take a walk. . . or just spend the evening at home without the kids. Meanwhile, the children get five solid hours to play together. Pure torture!
Good News Club
Good News Clubs are an integral part of Child Evangelism Fellowship, these after school clubs allow for students – many of whom are otherwise unchurched – to hear the gospel message as they memorize scripture, receive Bible teaching, play games and participate in worship. Click here for more info.
